Powertrain Design Engineer

You will join a global engineering organization in the automotive sector, focused on hybrid engines, transmissions, and next-generation powertrain solutions. In this role, you will take ownership of catalysts, downpipes, mainly multilayer heat shields, brackets, and cold-end parts, combining hands-on design work with supplier dialogue, simulation follow-up, and responsibility for accurate documentation.

The assignment is a good fit for someone who enjoys working close to product development, testing, and technical decision-making in a structured environment.

• Design and develop components in CATIA for catalysts, downpipes, heat shields, brackets, and cold-end parts.
• Own component documentation and keep design data updated in relevant administrative and documentation systems.
• Lead required simulations and use the results to support technical decisions.
• Drive technical discussions with suppliers and follow up on design-related topics.
• Present technical status and progress in group technical meetings and other relevant forums.
• Follow up testing and physical build activities.
• Maintain relevant release and status systems with the latest design information.

• Degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• Design experience within engine or powertrain development.
• Design experience with catalysts, downpipes, heat shields, and brackets, including sheet metal and cast components.
• Ability to understand simulation results, including LCF, HCF, and CFD.
• Powertrain experience within EAS (engine plant) and c-parts (vehicle plant).
• Understanding of the Global Product Development System and related processes.
• Documented experience in CATIA V5 and TCe.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken.
• Structured, communicative, and collaborative way of working.
